Our Frequently Asked Questions

1

Are any animals harmed to get these antlers?

Absolutely not! Elk naturally shed (drop) their antlers every single year. We simply hike into the wild and collect the fallen antlers off the ground. Our process is 100% cruelty-free, sustainable, and eco-friendly.

2

Are elk antlers safe for my dog?

Yes! Antlers are a fantastic, natural chew. However, because they are very hard, we always recommend supervising your dog while they chew. If you have a senior dog, a puppy, or a dog with sensitive teeth, we highly recommend choosing "Split Antlers" which expose the softer marrow inside and are gentler on the teeth.

3

Do antler chews splinter?

Unlike cooked animal bones (which are very dangerous and prone to splintering), high-quality, fresh deer antlers are much less likely to splinter. As your dog chews, the antler slowly grinds down. Once the chew becomes small enough to be a choking hazard, simply take it away and replace it with a new Chomper Chewz.

4

What is the difference between Whole and Split antlers?

  • Whole Antlers: These are left intact and are incredibly durable. They are perfect for aggressive power chewers who need a tough, long-lasting challenge.
  • Split Antlers: These are cut in half lengthwise to expose the nutrient-dense marrow. They are easier to chew, making them perfect for puppies, seniors, and casual chewers.
5

How long will a Chomper Chewz antler last?

It depends entirely on your dog's chewing habits! For a casual chewer, a properly sized antler can last for months. For a heavy power chewer, it may last a few weeks. They are widely considered one of the longest-lasting natural dog chews on the market.

6

What size antler should I buy for my dog?

Choosing the right size is crucial for safety. You want an antler that is large enough that your dog cannot fit the entire thing inside their mouth.

  • Small: Best for dogs under 20 lbs.
  • Medium: Best for dogs 20 - 40 lbs.
  • Large: Best for dogs 40 - 70 lbs.
  • Jumbo: Best for giant breeds 70+ lbs.
(If you are ever in doubt, always size up!)

Safety First: Always supervise your dog when chewing. Choose the appropriate size for your dog's weight and chewing habits. Discard the antler when it becomes small enough to swallow. Consult your vet before use if your dog has dental issues.
